I received the inspiration in creating this site while on a morning run in August 2007.

Due to a separation (and subsequent divorce) from my wife of five years, I was not a happy person and part of my recovery included exercise.

During one of these “recovery” runs, I noticed many drivers whose faces didn’t have a smile on them. For whatever reason, may it be going to work, a “deep-thought” moment, dropping the kids off or just going on an early morning errand, my inspiration was found.

People in this world need a smile as a part of their day. This is why I created this simple site that included a daily smile and, if possible, a bit of history related to the image.
